Frédéric Chaslin

The French conductor Frédéric Chaslin is also a pianist and composer, and was educated at the Paris Conservatoire and the Salzburg Mozarteum.

From 1991 to 1994 he served as music director at Rouen Opera, 2004-2007 at Nationaltheater Mannheim and for his second tenure at Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra since 2011. Chaslin made his international début in 1993 at Austria’s Bregenz Festival, where he conducted for four seasons. He was a resident conductor at the Vienna Staatsoper from 1997 to 2005, and has conducted more than 200 performances of major repertory there, among them Werther, also in 2018. Chaslin is visiting BNO for the first time.
