Theodor Uggla
Swedish lyric tenor Theodor Uggla joins Bergen National Opera in the role of Grev Almaviva in The Barber of Seville in March 2027.
Swedish lyric tenor Theodor Uggla completed his training at the Dutch National Opera Academy in 2023 and is establishing a versatile profile as one of the leading young lyric tenors in Sweden.
Recent and forthcoming engagements include Pim/Ramiro (La cenerentola) for the Royal Swedish Opera / Young Opera, The King in the new family opera Sherlock and the Singer for Malmö Opera / Operaverkstaden, Alfredo (La traviata) for Sunne Sommaropera, Lehrbube (Tenor I) (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) at the Royal Danish Opera, Alberto (La gazzetta) for Läckö Slott Opera, and Count Balduin of Zedlau (Wiener Blut) for Miniopera, Jönköping.
At the Dutch National Opera Academy, his roles included Dorvil (La scala di seta), Contino Belfiore (La finta giardiniera), and Richard (What Price Confidence).
A graduate of the Royal College of Music, London, Theodor is a scholarship recipient of both the Confidencen Scholarship and the Hohenzollern Award, and appears regularly as a soloist in concert and oratorio repertoire, particularly Bach.
