Operagalla 22nd and 23rd August

Åmot Operagard has invited Bergen National Opera and Edvard Grieg Choir to put together an opera extravaganza for this summer`s opera galla, with the aim to lift the roof of the Operabarn... The excellent chef at the farm will provide the culinary pleasures of the evening. Welcome to a most unmissable summer night! We`ll be bringing two singers from the famous Mariinsky Theatre in St.Petersburg, Yana Kleyn and Dmitry Lavrov (last seen in the role of Prince Afron in our production of The Golden Cockerel). Together with Edvard Grieg Choir they will present pearls from the opera repertoire from around the world. After the concert you are invited to the barn`s restaurant and a delicious 3-course dinner.

About Åmot Operagard

The Åmot Country Villa & Opera Farm is a private historic estate that has been transformed into an exclusive country estate.

The Country Villa is located in a lush, secluded valley in the heart of the fjord region. The villa itself was built at the end of the 19th century and has undergone a total restoration in recent years. Its former splendour has been recreated and modern amenities have been added. The Swiss-style residence's carefully considered use of patterns, colours, textiles and structures all play their part in telling stories of the strong female characters who have lived and stayed here, giving the house an air of refinement tinged with just a dash of madness.

In addition to opening their historic estate to a few selected guests, owners Steinar and Yngve have also done the near impossible; they have created an impressive cultural stage in the former barn. International opera stars such as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa have stayed and performed here. Stunning western Norwegian scenery forms the backdrop for this unique farm theatre, where local, national and international artists provide cultural performances in a class of their own.
