Eva B. Landro

Eva B. Landro is the newest member of Edvard Grieg Kor, and now in January she is our soloist in the first Opera at the library this year.

The Norwegian mezzo-soprano Eva B. Landro holds a Masters Degree in singing from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, including an exchange at Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. As a concert singer she has performed with Barokkanerne, Norwegian Baroque Orchestra, The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir, Oslo Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Aksiom, and Trondheim Baroque among others.

In 2019 she explored breeches roles and other mezzo repertoire, as well as American crossover, having received a stipend from Arts Council Norway to further her specialization in these fields. In that occation she sang Sesto in La clemenza di Tito by Mozart at Stage 2/Norwegian Opera & Ballett during LidalNorth 2019, and she studied the interpretation and language in the role of Ottavia in L’incorazione di Poppea by Monteverdi at CasalEmilio in Ravenna.

She has often prioritized storytelling in her collaborations, having toured with performance storyteller Torgrim Mellum Stene on several occasions.

Eva B. Landro is also an experienced ensemble singer, having sung regularely with The Norwegian Soloists Choir, RIAS Chamberchoir (Berlin), The Opera Choir (DNO&B, Oslo) and Trondheim Vocal Ensemble.

Since 2020 she is 1. alto in the renowned vocal ensemble Edvard Grieg Kor (EGK) in Bergen.
