Latonia Moore

- A remarkable voice, wonderful in its amplitude at full throttle, yet also capable of sustaining beautiful, rapt pianissimos. This is one of the finest performances of the role to be heard in London for many years. The Guardian om Latonia Moore som Aida

The American soprano Latonia Moore graduated from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia in 2005. Already while studying, she won several awards, notably at the 2003 Belvedere Competition in Vienna, the 2003 Concours International d’Opéra in Marseille and the Richard Tucker Foundation Grant in 2005.

She made a much acclaimed debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in the titlerole of Aida in 2012. Her superb Aida has brought her all over the world to houses like Dallas, Zürich, Sydney and Bergen. In 2016, she was invited back to the Met in the titlerole of Madama Butterfly.

Her last visit to Bergen National Opera marked her role debut as Desdemona/Otello. This season 2018/19 she sings Serena in Porgy and Bess both at the English National Opera i London as well as at De Nationale Opera in Amsterdam.
