Sergey Skorokhodov

Sergey Skorokhodov visits Bergen National Opera for the first time as Erik in The Flying Dutchman.

The Russian tenor Sergey Skorokhodov studied at Glinka Choral School and Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Since 2007, he has been a leading soloist at the famous Mariinskt Theatre in St. Petersburg, in addition to numerous guest appearances at major operahouses in Europe and USA. Highlights include Bacchus/Ariadne auf Naxos at Glyndebourne, Froh/Das Rheingold in Munich, Lensky/Eugen Onegin in Bologne and Ismaele/Nabucco in Chicago. Last season, he sang Erik/The Flying Dutchman, Duca di Mantova/Rigoletto, Alfredo/La traviata and Macduff/Macbeth – to mention a few – at Mariinsky.

In the 2015/16 season he sang the titlerole in Lohengrin alongside Anna Netrebko as Elsa under the baton of Valery Gergiev.
